- Your Title: What Are You an Expert On?
Sample Titles: Your Ultimate Guide to Parisian Restaurants or The Complete Guide to Vitamin and Mineral Supplements or SEO Starter Guide: Everything You Need to Know Ultimate Guides are blog posts designed to be the best of the best. It's supposed to be the blog post to end all blog posts–everything your reader will ever need to know about the subject. To boost the post’s SEO, include a keyword in the title. Every great guide should start with an introductory paragraph. This is your opportunity to persuade your reader and let them know why this post will answer all their important questions. You can share why you are the ideal person to write this guide; write a personal anecdote about how you became an expert in the field; show your empathy with your reader regarding how hard it is to find accurate information; and/or stress the frequent mistakes people make that can be avoided. Before writing your “how-to” or “best-of” post below, add one last sentence that sums up your paragraph and offers a polished transition to your guide. Some Quick Guidelines on Formatting Don’t make your guide longer than 2000 words. In an ultimate guide, you also have a lot of space to use your SEO keywords. Put 2-3 keywords around in the post, in the H2 headings, and in the text itself. Add Anchors Links much like a table of contents where readers can click and go to a section of the post. To add them, click on Link in the toolbar above, select Section and select one of the headings in the post. Heading #1: Why Is This Topic So Important? Heading #2: What are the Nuts and Bolts of Your Guide? Heading #3: Is Your Reader Feeling Empowered? Heading #1: Why Is This Topic So Important? In this first section, you set the stage for your readers. This is where you remind your site visitor, in greater detail, about the topic at hand. You can offer a brief history of the issue as well as when and how it became so popular or vital; describe the geographic location or setting if your guide is travel-focused; relay the possible mishaps that occur (or can occur) to someone who doesn’t stay up-to-date with current trends; and explain how practical implementation of your recommendations is simple. This is your chance to get your reader excited about the guide and appreciate the real value behind reading the post in its entirety. To boost the post's SEO, be sure to include keywords in the heading and format them as Heading 2 or Heading 3. Heading #2: What are the Nuts and Bolts of Your Guide? Get ready to explain everything! Start with a catchy introductory sentence or two to get the ball rolling, and then begin sharing your insights with your audience. Decide from the start of this section if you want to write your detailed explanation of your expert guide (i.e. Parisian Restaurants or Vitamin and Mineral Supplements or SEO Steps) as a list or separate subheadings. The most important thing is to be consistent. Each entry should be clearly distinguishable and you should offer your reader concrete insights throughout. Explain with examples and anecdotes. Try to give different perspectives so readers with different backgrounds understand. Think about your audience. Are you talking to beginners or more advanced readers? Do you need to use a more professional writing style, or a friendly and casual tone that is more relatable? Remember that this is the largest section of your guide. Add images to make the post more dynamic and interesting, and include links from other sources or to one of your previous posts. You may want to include something personal or funny along the way to lighten the load and make the read more enjoyable. Heading #3: Is Your Reader Feeling Empowered? It’s time for your readers to start applying what they have begun to master. Leave your reader feeling like they learned a lot. In this last section, you can write one or two paragraphs that remind your audience what they have learned; what are the first steps they can take to apply all your advice and coaching (i.e. make reservations to the perfect restaurants in Paris for an upcoming holiday; purchase vitamin supplements or make an appointment with a nutritionist; or check their SEO search engine rankings and keywords). Provide them the needed links (can be an affiliate) to get going and encourage them to soar. You can also remind them of other resources you have on your website as well as paid services or events that you offer. Don’t be shy. They may have more questions after reading (or in the future). Invite them to leave comments below the post so they stay engaged.
- Your Title: What Product Have You Tried & Tested?
Sample Titles: Product Review: The Latest in Wireless Headphones or The Affordable Baby Crib Every Expectant Parent Wants or It’s Finally Here! The Ideal Carry-On Luggage To boost the post’s SEO, include a keyword in the title. Product reviews are great if you want to compare products or gear for your readers. They'll keep coming back to you for your expertise and real world examples. Every reliable product review should start with an introductory paragraph. This is your chance to hook your readers right in and let them know what to expect. Are you reviewing one product or comparing a few? What is the full name of the product(s)? Share with your readers your expertise in this area; your frustration with products out in the market that haven’t met your needs; and why this review will offer them the ins and outs of the product’s benefits. Heading #1: Your First Impressions Your readers want to feel like they are experiencing the product for the first time with the same attention to detail that you have. This is your place to be descriptive and offer a clear account of the look and feel of the product and all of its features. Make sure to include images to help your storytelling come alive. Heading #2: How Have You Tested Include personal anecdotes of how the product helped you. When, where and how did you use the product? The more personal you are, the more relatable and trustworthy you'll be. If you had others test the product, share this with your reader. People might not be aware of all the ways a product might help them out. So be sure to highlight these in your post. You may mention ways they hadn't even thought of! Heading #3: Pros and Cons Be sure to empathize with your readers. Point out their frustrations and then how the product might help (or not!). You'll need to figure out what their problems are, and how the product could solve them. If you're comparing a few different products, include a graph or table where people can see similarities and differences right away. This helps readers choose which option to buy. Not everyone has access to the product you're talking about, for one reason or another. You might want to list a few alternatives they can choose from. They'll love you for it. Heading #4: The Final Score Firstly, remind your reader (once again) of your years of experience in this area and what makes you the perfect person to give a final evaluation. It's not required for every review, but a rating definitely helps. Sum up your thoughts and opinion on the product with a rating. 5 out of 5 stars? 1 out of 2 thumbs? Let people know what you think. Make money with your review by including affiliate links. Readers can buy the product with a link you give them, and you'll get a commission. These are a great way to earn money without being in your face. Just be sure to state that they're affiliate links! Learn more about affiliate links in our guide. If it's a product you're selling through your Wix website, add a link that goes straight to your product page from the Add button in the sidebar. Invite readers to leave a comment, and share their experience if they've used the product before.
- Your Title: What Is Your Advice (or Tip) About?
Sample Titles: How to Pack for a Beach Holiday or 5 Secrets to Packing Light for a Beach Holiday or Best Travel Luggage for Kids & Families To boost the post’s SEO, include a keyword in the title. Now that we’ve introduced your topic with a short and catchy title, it’s time to write your introductory paragraph. This is your chance to grab your reader’s attention. You can explain why you are the best person to give advice on this topic; share a personal story that reflects your own experience on the subject; and/or highlight common mistakes that can be avoided once applying your useful tips. Before listing your tips below, add one last sentence that sums up your paragraph or offers a smooth transition to your listicle. Tip #1 - Engage readers right away This first tip should be a juicy one. It’ll keep your readers with you. Format each tip's title to H2 to keep your post neat. Tip #2 - Explain more The middle tips should go into a bit more detail, explain more. Keep them short and to-the-point. E.g., if you're writing a post about how to blog, you can write something like: "Decide how often you want to blog. Be realistic about it. Think you can blog twice a month? Commit to once a month and stick to it." "Include quotes by experts in your post to add credibility." – SEO specialist Tip #3 - Make it personal Feel free to include personal details and examples. The more relatable you or your website is, the more you connect with your readers. Tip #4 - Mix it up Try different blog formats each time. One month, post a day in the life, then try a How-To or a Q&A. There are many templates to help you get started. Tip #5 - Finish strong Your final tip will lead into your post’s conclusion. For example, “Lastly, knowing just a little bit about SEO can go a long way in helping your blog succeed. You can learn more about SEO in our guide.” Then be sure to add a link to your guide here. Don’t Forget to Add a Closing Statement Keep it short. Restate your main point and tell your readers what you want them to do next. Don’t be shy. Just tell them: Buy Now, Click Here, Read This, and link to it. You can also invite them to leave a comment below your post.
